Volunteering
Local and National Opportunties Any student who wishes to value add to their degree regardless of what discipline they are studying should consider volunteering. Volunteering not only gets you involved with the community but improves skills and attributes. Employers don’t just look at grade course averages but are always on the lookout for those students who are involved in extra-curricular activities and who look to improve their skills.
Check JobsPlus+ regularly for any volunteering positions. Also check Events in JobsPlus+ as employers also post off –campus information session and training opportunity details on this section of our website.
International Opportunties Students may be interested in joining holiday camps in the US and Europe, teaching English as a foreign language in China, Japan or Korea or teaching in other countries. Students and graduates may also wish to use their skills and attributes to travel further afield and work voluntarily in Africa, Asia or Latin America. Many organisations promote voluntary programmes overseas, both short and long term, and representatives are available to facilitate the process and define the benefits of working overseas.
