Welcome to the Careers Advisory Service website. This module has information for ECU staff.
The Careers Advisory Service (CAS) and Edith Cowan University Faculty staff have enjoyed a long and strong relationship based on our shared commitment to providing students with a quality education for their professional and personal success. In order to further improve this commitment, CAS offers all ECU staff a range of opportunities to work together. Alternatively we are always keen to trial and adopt new strategies and career initiatives that will assist ECU students in their career development and management.
We all know that to be competitive in today's job market students need to know how to effectively evaluate their skills, explore career options and market themselves. Ultimately this is not just so graduates experience early success in finding work (remembering that in most faculties less than 20 per cent of students proceed to higher degrees as the majority seek employment)
but also because in terms of graduate outcomes the university and your Faculty / School will be, in part, measured in terms of employment rates.
We are a mobile service just waiting for the opportunity to assist our students increase their employability.
Our Role:Our role includes providing your students with a keen awareness of career development programs, career-related experiences, and associated job search services that will complement the academic preparation you provide. We need your help in order to accomplish this successfully, and we ask that you provide us with your ideas and constructive feedback on the comprehensiveness and usefulness of our programmes and web site.
